It is inevitable that the Los Angeles , led by Andrew Friedman, and their well-known braintrust, will consider improving their roster as the year progresses.
Much of the offseason move was made with the idea that LA would avoid having to overpay for talent at deadlines. The prices of these assets are usually astronomical, and Friedman is relatively immobilized in not giving up on the younger talent of rentals.

This year’s teams can use help in several spots. The lack of a true centre fielder may be problematic. Previous production from LF and CF spots is below where the team wants.
When talking to Doug McKain, MLB insider Bob Nightengale predicted where the were looking to add talent through the trade market.
“I could see them adding another outfielder, maybe a relief pitcher, but the bullpen is so strong that I’m not sure about it,” Knight Engale said. “Even if the fourth or fifth outfielder is on the bench, if he can pick up one piece, perhaps an outfielder, Andrew Friedman isn’t going to sit down, the better the team is visible.
Teams cannot have enough weapons. Even if Kirby Yates and Tanner Scott were added in the offseason, would anyone really be surprised if the got another impact arm?
Benches are aging, so injecting athletic abilities and young people is not a poor idea. It could come from the minor leagues. There, it’s at the forefront of a small number of prospects making it in the club.
Anyway, like Night Engale said, Friedman wouldn’t be putting.
