NBA fans saw Cooper Flag making his first big play in the preseason on the block.
There’s been a lot said about the Dallas Mavericks adding Cooper Flags to make them extremely dangerous. The first few months after Anthony Davis’ arrival looked bleak, but Flagg adds new dynamics.
Many believe that Cooper Flag can help make a Mavericks candidate, especially after Kyrie Irving returns from the tears of the ACL.
Some Maverick stars have already encouraged the younger stars, and Anthony Davis is especially on the defensive side, encouraging Cooper Flag early on.
Flag keeps Superstar’s words in mind, and it appears that he’s making Davis complete a great transition play with a sensational block against OKC Thunder.
In the Mavericks’ preseason opener vs. OKC Thunder, Cooper Flag jumped out to block Isaiah Joe’s layup.
This led D’Angelo Russell to begin a quick transition, lobing the ball of Anthony Davis Alley-oop in just six seconds.
Many NBA fans wondered if this was a sign of what’s going on. One fan wrote, “It would be nearly impossible to get a simple bucket for paint against Dallas’ defense.”
Another fan added, “It’s a big lineup. It’s a lively atmosphere with ads from 4, Cooper from 3, and five people.”
One NBA fan made a bold prediction, “I think we can win 50 games this year!!!”
Another fan called for patience, saying, “While I agreed to the statement, it was one play in the third stringer of the preseason vs. Thunder.”
At the other end of that emotion spectrum, one NBA fan claimed, “Yeah… they’re outweighing the West.”
However, one NBA fan was pleased to see the old trends coming back.
As the Dallas Mavericks built a massive lead, Cooper Flag and other starters took the bench in the preseason opener.
Flag made his own good show on his first outing, scoring 10 points, three times on blocks with six rebounds and three assists, 3-6 off the field and 2-3 from the deep in just 14 minutes.
If he can continue to function well in the preseason, the younger sense has momentum to launch the regular season strongly.
However, the Mavericks may choose to bench preseason flags and other starters to avoid the injury bug that derailed them last season.
