Newcastle United will be interested in signing Sam Ageho from Porto and will face competition with Aston Villa.
The 21-year-old striker has been doing very well for the Portuguese club, scoring 27 goals last season. He is on top club radar for his performance, and it will be interesting to see if Newcastle can make the deal.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are also keeping an eye on his situation.
Newcastle needs another striker
They need more depth in their attacking units, and they are overly dependent on Alexander Isaac. Swedish International is a world-class player, but he needs more support in the offense.
Newcastle will be competing in the Champions League next season and cannot hope that one trusted striker will pass the entire season. Signing the 21-year-old Spanish striker is a wise decision. According to Fichejes, he is valued at 100 million euros, and it is very unlikely that Newcastle would agree to pay him such money. He is an incredible talent with a bright future, but he is still largely improving at the highest level. Porto must be reasonable for their requests.
Will Porto sell Sam Ageho?
That being said, the Portuguese outfit is not under pressure to sell him. It is still unknown how the situation will develop. If Newcastle manages to sign a promising young striker like him, it could prove to be a master stroke for them.
The 21-year-old isn’t just a reliable scorer. He has a physicality that thrives in British football and was able to make a big difference to Newcastle in the final third.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, is overly dependent on Ollie Watkins. It’s not surprising they’re looking at other options. It will be interesting to see if they can bring strikers in before the windows close.
