The Los Angeles still have All-Star catcher Will Smith’s status against Game 3 of the NLDS. Smith came out of the bench in games 1 and 2 and was able to hit the bat after replacing Ben Rothvevett and continued to work behind the plate. The can develop a similar game plan for Game 3.
In other news, rookie right-handed Loki Sasaki made history after making a save on Monday night. Sasaki has been on the electricity since returning to the mound more than four months after his injured list, but the 23-year-old was a vital member of the bullpen.
Finally, manager Dave Roberts provided an update on Miguel Rojas’ injuries after finishing early Monday’s victory with a hamstring injury. Rojas played a diving play Tagging Speedster and former Trea Turner in six innings.
“I know the hamstrings, he tweaked it a little,” Roberts said. “Obviously he’s off and he won’t start tomorrow, but I’m sure he’s ready for anything he needs in the game, but I think he’s fine.”
