Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder was arrested last Friday by Columbus police as part of the city’s prostitution.
Columbus police confirmed the MMA’s arrest for the fighting on Monday after local outlet 10TV first reported the news.
Snyder, 29, was one of 16 men charged with stabbing after police conducted a secret investigation to suppress Columbus prostitution. Police ran an escort ad online as part of the surgery, then used the answers to set up potential arrests.
Snyder reportedly called and texted the numbers listed in the ads around 8:15pm on Friday, and agreed to meet the escort at a local hotel.
After arriving, Snyder allegedly paid the undercover agent’s cash to request oral sex. He was later arrested for engaging in prostitution and released at the scene.
He is scheduled for May 19th in court.
One of the most decorated wrestlers in recent American history, Snyder secured his place in history as the youngest US wrestler to win gold when he won the match in 2016. Snyder returned to win a silver medal during the 2020 Olympics, but failed to win his third medal in Paris in 2024.
In addition to his Olympic acclaim, Snyder is a seven-time medalist and three-time national champion after wrestling at Ohio State University.
More recently, Snyder has signed to take part in the new Real American Freestyle Wrestling promotion launched by WWE Hall of Fame Hulk Hogan and former WWE executive Eric Bischoff.
