The Los Angeles are hilariously sitting 7.5 games from the San Diego Padres, at the top of the National League West Division, but the Friars appear to be plagued by the All-Star Game Voting, another area where LA is currently leading.
Padres announcer Mark Grant recently came after All-Star Max Muncie.

“Let’s call it that,” Grant said Sunday. “Manny Machado is a better three-base player than Max Muncie.”
Both hot corners are in phase 2 of the All-Star Voting. Machado received 2,495,554 votes to lead the National League third baseman, with Muncie finishing just behind him with a total of 1,665,829.
Over the course of both careers, Machado had more impressive statistics while playing three seasons. He leads Muncie in carrier batting average and slugging percentages, but Muncie has an advantage when it comes to on-base percentages and OPS.
Both have 124 career OPS+, more than 20% above the league average, with Machado having Gold Glove Honors, Silver Slugger Awards and six All-Star nods.
As for 2025, things get a little more interesting.
Max Muncy has more Bwar (2.9) than Machado (2.5) and more RBI (55) than his San Diego counterpart (47), both tied with 13 home runs.
Machado has hits, batting average, slugging rate, and four stolen base edges than Muncie, while the ‘ third base hand has a higher on-base percentage, OPS, and OPS+ in five games than Machado.
Defensively, both are graded as below average defenders, with Machado ranking in the 11th percentile in rankings with above average outs and fifth percentile.
To confidently claim that Machado is better, if there are cases of air that refer to the opposite, not only shows the lack of professionalism behind the microphone, but also distrusts the surprising seasons put together by Muncie, especially after such a late start.
As for the total statistics for both careers, the answer is Machado, but Muncie still has three bases in the Padres, or two World Series trophies his team has yet to win.
