Bobby Miller won the Los Angeles and his rookie season in 2023. However, the right-handed starting pitcher struggled to overcome the sophomore slump that ultimately landed him in the minor leagues last season.
Joel Reuter from Bleacher Report suggests that Miller could benefit from changing scenery. Reuters listed the 25-year-old as a potential trade option for the in 2025.

Miller was initially playing in the fifth spot in the ‘ starting rotation. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blakesnell, Sasaki Roki and Tyler Grasnow were Shuin, while Miller, Tony Gonsorin and Dustin were wild cards.
However, Miller drove from his forehead in the Cactus League opener and didn’t have enough time to back up. The roster spot doesn’t seem to be in Miller’s future as the decided to optional him and infielder Heisen Kim last week.
Miller couldn’t perform at the same level as he did in rookie season. Reuters admitted that Miller’s fastball speed and spin rate had declined between 2023 and 2024, with his ERA rising to 8.62 with 13 starts from 3.76 ERA on 22 starts.
The placed their previous first-round draft pick on the injured list in April with an inflammation of their right shoulder. Miller completed his rehabilitation assignments in May and June, and Los Angeles made him an option to Triple A in July.
Los Angeles recalled Miller in August and started 6 MLB before the returned him to a minor a month later.

Despite the current struggle on the mound, Miller should still be very young and have a bright future ahead of him. However, the may ultimately decide to say goodbye to Miller if their team wants to get a chance with their previous top prospects in exchange for more needs.
