Arsenal is reportedly confident in retaining William Saliba despite continued interest in transfers from Real Madrid.
Plus, the gunners are insisted not replacing either but rather sign £50 million Bournemouth defender Dean Huyssen to play alongside both Saliva and Gabriel.
That’s what Arsenal looks milder than the situation, according to Athletic, which Real Madrid says is eager to Saliba.
Arsenal faced Real Madrid tonight at the Bernabeu, defeating them 3-0 in the first leg of last week’s quarterfinals.
Saliba is fantastic in the first game between these teams and will play a key role in tonight’s big test.
William Saliba looks like a Real Madrid signature
Arsenal fans will certainly be afraid of this ongoing speculation. Because Saliba looks good enough to go to a big club like Real Madrid and become a star player.
The 24-year-old is world class during his stay with the Emirates and the club wouldn’t want to lose him.
The Athletic adds that Huijsen is Arsenal’s £50 million target, and is intended for the talented Young Spain International to play alongside both Saliva and Gabriel.
However, it’s hard to imagine Fuizen playing regularly for the AFC while both Saliva and Gabriel are still around.
It’s a struggle to make Huijsen fit into his starting lineup, so it’s still not clear how accurate this story is.
The AFC source may be emphasizing certain lines to sound confidently in their position at Saliba, but ultimately there is not much that can be done if they decide not to sign a new contract.
And losing him would be a blow, but Huissen looks like he could be a great replacement.
