Christian Fuchs has ties to Newport County and is reportedly set to take over the supervisory role.

Former Premier League champion Christian Fuchs was spotted in the stands watching Newport County’s recent away game, according to The Sun, fueling speculation that he could join the Welsh club as their new manager.

Christian Fuchs did well for the Foxes

The 39-year-old was a key player for Leicester City during his playing days and is now strongly linked with a position within the Welsh club’s coaching staff.

Fuchs’ unexpected presence at the match attracted the attention of supporters and the media, sparking rumors that the former Leicester City defender was preparing for a new chapter in his coaching career.

Newport is hoping to get the season back on track after a tough showing. Fuchs’ appointment as manager would be a statement of intent from the League Two side. It will show their ambitions for the future.

Fuchs’ new journey

Since retiring from professional football, Fuchs has turned to coaching and could be the ideal manager to rebuild the culture and trust within Newport’s locker room. The job will be an exciting challenge for the 39-year-old, who is keen to improve his reputation as a manager.

Fuchs previously won the Premier League trophy with Leicester City in 2016 as a player and his experience could be invaluable to the Newport squad. Fans will also be looking forward to seeing a proven winner like him bring fresh ideas to Rodney Parade.

The club’s leaders have yet to make any concrete announcement regarding a managerial change and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops in the coming weeks.
