Chelsea are reportedly ready to test an ambitious transfer move for Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger this summer.
The Blues are said to be keen to reinforce the back and are keen to get back former player Rudiger.
That’s according to Fichajes, who has said the experienced German International is Chelsea’s top target for the upcoming transfer period.
Rudiger won the Champions League with his first spell at Chelsea and won the trophy for the second time in his career at Real Madrid last season.
Otherwise, there is no doubt that the 32-year-old could join the team as a key leader for the younger and inexperienced Chelsea team.
Antonio Rudiger has returned to Chelsea, but appears to be the correct signature
Certainly he doesn’t want to sell Rudiger, but he looks exactly like what CFC needs right now.
The West London Giants’ current team certainly isn’t balanced. Many young players lack senior figures than leading the team.
Until the end of last season, Chelsea had Thiago Silva. He played at the highest level until he was 39, so there are certainly cases where he would get Rudiger back for several years.
Chelsea also linked to Dean Huyssen.
Fitcheyjess also mentions Chelsea’s interest in Bournemouth defender Dean Huyssen, but that would be another signature for the future.
The talented young Spaniard will certainly be someone in demand this summer, but Chelsea may be better off moving for Rudiger.
Defense is currently a clear area of weakness for Chelsea, and it’s easy to imagine Wesley Fofana, Trevo Charova, Tosin Adarabioyo and others, so perhaps multiple defensive signatures are needed.
