Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged his old club to seal the transfer of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.
The talented Young England International is an exciting prospect that shows great potential in a relatively short period in the palace so far.
Ferdinand is clearly a huge fan of Wharton, giving him high praise, saying that his playing style and intelligent pass reminds him of the Red Devils legendary Michael Carrick.
Wharton is now able to make some of United’s other midfielders a major upgrade, and this current team is struggling under Reuben Amorim.
Amorim has just recently taken over at Old Trafford and he will want to make changes to the team he inherited from Eric Ten Hag.
Adam Wharton could be a great signing for the Manchester unit
Ferdinand is a huge Wharton fan and spoke on his YouTube channel about why he made him the top target for United.
Critics praised Wharton’s ball for the quality and were also impressed by hearing about the player’s mentality after spending time with his family.
“Adam Wharton, Crystal Palace midfielder – I’ll take him there,” Ferdinand said.
“The reason I’m taking him is someone who can take the ball and transfer it from the middle of the pitch.
“He has a wide range of passes, and I think he will be a great addition to his team, his younger English talent.
“He’s like Carrick sometimes. The way he slaps the ball.”
This is certainly a high praise from Ferdinand, and it will be interesting to see if anyone at United pays attention to this.
Wharton certainly seems like a quick mover.
The 21-year-old looks like he has a big future in the game. And it’s easy to imagine that things like Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City could be his option at some point.
