New Rangers manager Russell Martin is willing to sell “great” players in the summer transfer window, according to a new transfer update.

Martin is aiming to sign first as Rangers boss

Ibrox’s Martin days were officially ongoing, and the former Southampton boss wanted to bring a lot of success to the club and had to see rival Celtic, dominating the Scottish premiership over the past decade or so.

The 39-year-old is clearly very excited to start, and he admits quickly after confirmation, just like the Rangers’ next manager. “It’s an incredible feeling. I’m really grateful for the board. Patrick (Stewart), Kevin (Selwell), faith in me. It was a tough process and it took me a while, but what I expect when I want to be the manager of this club of height, size and expectations.

Now is the case where Martin is backed by the transfer market, with the British signing players he thinks are ideal for him, with Southampton midfielder Flynn Downs reportedly being his first addition. He was well aware of the players from his spells in charge of the saints and was able to support quality as he completed 90.8% of his passes in the Premier League in 2024/25.

That said, some current GERS players may depart before next season begins, with some GERS players likely to depart, and significant updates have been reduced for one individual.

It’s merciless if Martin sends McArthurland into the summer window, given that he’s a talented young player praised by Lee McCulloch in the past.

“McCoursland was absolutely fantastic. He has a bubbley, pace, technical first touch. Amazing. Playing in this cauldron, and considering the size of this game, he seemed confident. I think the fans really took him. He really gave the stadium a lift.”

However, the club has made a big decision this summer as McAussland was limited to four starts in the Scottish Premiership last season, suggesting he is not considered a key player to advance.

New Landstrum: Martin wants to sign his first ranger to the £18 million star

Once Russell Martin begins an overhaul of the Rangers team, will he be able to sign the “class” midfielder in a deal reminiscent of John Lundstrum’s move to Ibrox?

He only has two years left on his current contract, so there’s no time left until the price tag starts to fall, and if Martin feels he’s a consumable person, it makes the most sense right now to move him.
