TNT analyst Stan Van Gandy went out to criticize the New York Knicks star.
The first two games of the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals were dissent from home team, the New York Knicks.
Instead of giving up, the Knicks bouncing off in Game 3, a 20-point comeback victory in Game 3, led by Karl Anthony Towns.
Kat’s performance was praised, but there’s no reason to forget that Jalen Brunson is running an astounding series and playoffs.
Thanks to his incredible performance this season, many seem to have forgotten the amount of criticism Branson faced when he joined the team in 2022.
Many went as far as Branson said he overpaid as the Knicks signed a four-year, $104 million contract. But TNT’s Stan Van Gandy always appears to be on the corner of Branson.
He proved once again when Brunson got off with 43 points despite Brunson taking on overtime losses in Game 1 of the ECF.

“LA?
Van Gundy arrived in New York in 1996 with the signing of Shaquille O’Neill as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers. O’Neill helped the Lakers win three NBA titles.
Van Gundy wasn’t done with great admiration for the Knicks star. TNT analysts claimed that JB is one of the best players in the league.
On top of that, SVG believes he certainly did a better job than Mikal Bridges or Karl Anthony Towns.
“And now, I think he’s everyone aware – one of the best players in the league. Those (trade for towns and bridges) have not always been given great enthusiasm to the fans or New York media,” SVG continued.
“But they proved themselves pretty good. They put together the Hekba roster here. There’s a chance (to win),” he concluded.
Branson averaged 29.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game for the Knicks this postseason. If the team can help end the championship drought, Branson instantly becomes a Knicks legend.
