Steve Kerr and Tom Thibodeau received rude hymns from rival fans, but some responded in a variety of ways.

With the NBA playoffs underway, fans across the league are appearing in large numbers to support their teams.

When the playoffs are in the air there is a certain magic. And some teams take pride in the playoff atmosphere they create, especially in the arena.

Teams like Thunder, Pistons, Rockets and Pacers all featured fans in large numbers to support the players on the court.

But sometimes, fans take it to themselves to rattle the opposite player. The Warriors and Knicks both experienced this recently. However, their two head coaches responded very differently to Heckling.

In the Warriors’ first two games against the Rockets, Draymond Green sparked anger among the fans present. This led Rockets fans to serenade him with the chant “f___ you, draymond.”

Jalen Brunson received the same treatment during Game 3 of the Knicks series using Pistons.

Steve Kerr felt the Rockets chant was rude, but Tom Thibodeau of New York thought it wasn’t.

Steve Kerr: “If the fans use a little more discretion and remember that the guy has kids, I’m old school to me. I have all the fans cheering for their team. If they want to scream at their opponents, it’s great.

Tom Thibodeau: “For Jalane, those are cheers. He lives for that.”

Steve Kerr appears to be disrupted by the nasty nature of the chants from Rockets fans, but Thibodeau, as he believes, is also welcoming them as an extra motive.

Of course, Tom Thibodeau could be welcoming offensive chants from fans.

Jalen Brunson, the guy on the receiving end of these chants, played an amazing game. He dropped 30 points and nine assists in a winning performance.

But it wasn’t just his score that he got those chants. Jalen Brunson has been accused of comparing several piston fans and analysts.

Tom Thibodeau defended Branson and compared his treatment to Cade Cunningham’s. The war of words, combined with exciting and gritty basketball, has made the Knicks Pistons series a must-see surveillance for NBA fans.
