Liverpool manager Arne Slot issued several key player injuries updates ahead of his side’s big game against Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend.
The Reds will move to Stamford Bridge for a tricky away game on Saturday at a late kickoff. It appears that slots have one of the bad news to fight on that trip.
As broadcast by Times journalist Paul Joyce in the X-Post below, the slot is without Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper Alison Becker, and the Dutch tactician says he’s “surprised” that he’s back and will be available again shortly after the upcoming international break…
But there’s better news for Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa, posted by Joyce.
Liverpool is good to deal with Allison’s absence
Liverpool’s loss of Allison could prove to be a big hit as he has been a very important player to the club for many years, but they have a new signing to the goal in the form of Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Georgia International has gained great reputation since joining from Valencia this summer and playing in LaLiga.
Mamardashvili is certainly a very capable study for Allison, and he may even see this as a great opportunity to overtake the Brazilians in the Liverpool hierarchy.
Mamaldashvili is a clear first choice in Valencia and is likely aiming to reach such a level again in the near future.
It’s not easy for him in the LFC if Alisson can quickly return to fitness and regain that number one spot, but Mamardashvili will have to count some of these games.
