Chelsea are trying to improve their attack force with the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

The 20-year-old has done very well for the German club, and his performance has also attracted Arsenal’s attention. However, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed in TBR football that Chelsea is on the forefront of getting the deal done.

The Bruce has already held discussions on potential moves, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to make the deal. The players have 12 goals and five assists in all competitions, and will cost £70 million this summer.

The players are also linked to Liverpool.

“We had a conversation,” Bailey TBR football said. “The Gittens want to return to the Premier League. He’s ready now, and that’s a real possibility.

“We’ve been talking about him recently and we’ve made progress over the last few weeks. He’s been able to do very well.”

Chelsea should certainly pay financial muscle and it will be interesting to see if they can get a trade across the line. They need to add even more depth of attack to the flank, making a 20-year-old an ideal long-term investment. He adds pace, flare and unpredictability to Chelsea’s offense. The opportunity to move into the Premier League is extremely exciting for players. It is a big step in his career and he can test himself at a higher level.

Meanwhile, Arsenal can use more depth on attacking units as well. They were unable to spin players like Bukayosaka or Gabriel Martinelli because of the lack of depth on the side. Gittens is a great acquisition for them. Arsenal also has the finances to close the deal, and it will be interesting to see if they can convince players to join in on behalf of Chelsea.

Arsenal is certainly a good match for fighting for major trophies compared to the Blues. It is still unclear whether players are attracted to the idea of participating.
