Cain Velázquez will do the job waiting for him once he leaves prison.
On Monday, March 24th, the former UFC heavyweight champion was sentenced five years later at the bar on numerous charges, including attempted murder, after engaging in high-speed pursuits and firing multiple shots in a vehicle carrying the Harry-Ralt.
MMA stars around the world have provided support to Velazquez on social media, many of whom called for the release of former fighter jets and shared the hashtag #freecain, which began circulating when he was first taken into custody three years ago.
A few days after Velazquez’s verdict, the Dirty Boxing Championship revealed that “Cardio Cain” would offer a multi-fight contract to compete for promotion upon his release.
“The Dirty Boxing Championship offers Cain Verasquez a multi-fight contract and fights to fight as soon as he gets free! #freecain.”
Released by BKFC Brawler ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry, DBX held its first official event in March.
Velazquez has not competed since 2019 when he suffered a first-round knockout loss against Francis Ngannow. At that point, the heavyweight icon became a professional wrestler and competes regularly in California and Mexico. He also had a short stint in WWE and ruled UFC rivalry with former heavyweight title holder Brock Lesnar.
Cain Velazquez could be released as early as 2026
Luckily, Velazquez’s five-year prison sentence doesn’t leave him in prison that long. Velazquez receives credit for the time he worked after being initially taken into custody, eight months behind the bar, and then goes to house arrest for more than two years.
It leaves the two years left to serve him. With good behavior, Velazquez could be released in 2026. If that proves true, if Veraquez wants to go back to the spotlight, dirty boxing is ready on the contract
