Two-time World Series champion and longtime veteran Clayton Kershaw said Cole is a good addition to the team’s roster. The three-time Cy Young Award winner said he had previous experience and had received calls. He said it was a challenge for a Southpaw like himself.
“I’ve faced Alex several times,” Kershaw told the Los Angeles Times. “He’s left-handed, tough against a great defender. He’s certainly a good addition.”
Cole started once on the right field and once on the left field, giving Michael Comfort and Tescar Hernandez a day. He made a total of four appearances between these two positions.
Conforto has struggled with the plate all season, averaging .188 in 101 games. He can contribute aggressively and defensively, which could be a solid alternative for Conforto.

Before joining the , Cole Cole survived the worst career season in 2023. It was his second MLB season, and he averaged .200 with a career-high 128 games.
The Nationals continued to enter and out of minor leagues the following season in 2024. But when he was batting in MLB, Cole was cutting a career-high .343/.425/.525 in 30 games against Washington.
Cole scored a spot this season on the Nationals’ opening day roster and has been a consistent role in MLB ever since.
The benefit from adding another impact bat to their lineup as they head towards the final stretch of the season. He will be under the team throughout the 2029 season. So Los Angeles could further develop the call for years to come.
