Fiorentina contacted former AJAX manager Francesco Falioli about the availability of their management. Catch off side.
Al Nassl’s manager, Stefano Pioli, was keen to leave the Saudi Arabian club and take over La Viola, but he could now be in the face of Italian work.
This is because Claudio Ranieri rejected the Italian national team’s offer, as reported earlier today via football Italy.
Ranieri’s statement to Ansa said, “I am grateful to President Gravina for the opportunity. It is a great honor. However, I have decided to reflect and maintain my full commitment to my new role in Rome.
“Friedkins gave me full support. He supported me regardless of my decision about the national team. This decision is mine.”
What’s next for Italy looking for a new manager?
Pioli is understood to be the second option for President Gravina of the Italian Football Federation, so it remains to be seen whether he is willing to accept his job with that knowledge.
Fiorentina is also in contact with Fariori, in case they miss Piori.
Fiorentina will need a new manager after ending Raffaele Palladino’s contract at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Italy needs a proper manager after poor form
For Luciano Spalletti as Italian boss, his dismissal was plundered after a 3-0 defeat to Norway last week.
Ranieri would have been an ideal choice for his experience. Former Chelsea and Leicester City managers have also done a great job since taking over in Rome.
Pioli makes sense as another well-known option, but it will be interesting to see if he is ready to take on the challenge or prefers Fiorentina.
