Stratton then refused the assignment and elected a free agency. On Friday, the right-hander re-signed the as a free agent and joined the St. Louis team to begin a six-game road trip.
On Monday, the made a one-on-one deal with the Seattle Mariners. The acquired right-handed pitcher Wilkline and sent minor league pitcher Joe Jack to Seattle. Dfa’d Stratton to create a room on Klein’s roster.
Stratton appeared in two of three games with the New York Yankees after signing with the team a few days ago. He allowed five strikeouts for the right-handed and two earned runs in three innings, reaching a 6.00 ERA during his brief tenure with the .
Now Stratton is back in the bullpen as his team continues to add reinforcements to his exhausted pitching staff. Currently, there are 15 pitchers on the injured list.
As the take on the red hot cardinal team and division rival San Diego Padres, Stratton will likely be rolled out from the bullpen in the coming days.
