“Thug” Rose is back!
The former two-time UFC strawweight champion is reportedly returning to the octagon for a fight night event in Atlanta on June 14th. Namajunas is expected to square with 12th-ranked flyweight candidate Miranda Maverick.
There has been no official announcement regarding the fight, but it appears that Maverick has jumped over the guns by announcing the match on social media.
“Rose is the inspiration for so many women, especially at WMMA, and I am no exception,” Maverick wrote on Instagram. “When I came out in sports, I was able to watch her fight and train regularly, and although I have been training together for the past few years, I am fortunate to mainly train at various gyms.
“Thug Criminal” rose for his third win as a flyweight
Namajunas currently sits as a competitor ranked sixth in the flyweight division after beating Amanda Rivas and Tracy Cortez. “Thug” Rose moved from Strawweight to flyweight in 2023 to 2-2, with all four matches sent to the scorecard. She was short against Erin Blanchefield on her latest outing in November.
Meanwhile, Miranda Maverick first appeared in 2025 on a four-game winning streak, including unanimous decision victory over Andrea “KGB” Lee, Dione Barbosa and Jamie Lynn Horse. She also won her third Armbar Submission victory over Priscilla Cachoeira during that run.
Overall, “Fear the Maverick is 8-3 in the octagon, with three of which wins coming in the distance.
So far, the only other fight scheduled for UFC Atlanta is a light heavyweight showdown between Alonzomenifield and undefeated finisher Oumar SY.
