Los Angeles utility man Tommy Edman was out of the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Miami Marlins. insider David Vasuge revealed on the SNLA broadcast that Edman tweaked his ankle in the sixth inning of Tuesday’s 15-2 victory.

The don’t think Edman is dealing with anything serious, but the team wanted him to rest for the second day in a row – an off-day scheduled for Thursday – and a series opener on Friday was ahead of the Atlanta Braves.
Vassegh said the team hopes Edman will be in the lineup on Friday.
Edman, 29, has had a red-hot start this season, cutting .252/.295/.523 with .818 with eight home runs, 24 RBI and OPS. Edman played in all 30 games that went on Wednesday. He was given a break on Monday, but was in the game in eight innings as a pinch hitter. He stayed in the game and ended up being a walk-off, a two-run single.
Now, Edman is undergoing ankle treatment, hoping he is ready for Friday’s game. In his absence, utility man Quique Hernandez joined the lineup on Wednesday, playing 2 bases.
