Liverpool striker Alexander Isak continues to struggle to achieve the form that earned him the richest contract in Premier League history when he joined from Newcastle United this summer.
BBC Sport reported at the time that Isak’s transfer fee was £125m, the most expensive in English history, but after his world-class performances at Newcastle, few doubted that at the time.
Still, it hasn’t been a good start to the season for the Swedish international. While he has only scored one goal for Liverpool so far, he has failed to score in his last five games and could make it six if he doesn’t get a goal today.
See below for this big chance that Isak definitely buried last season. But he was saved here by Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Ramens…

United will be relieved to still be in the lead after such a big chance, and Lamence did a pretty good job of preventing it, even if Isak should have certainly done better.
Can Liverpool find a way back against Manchester United?
Liverpool fell behind in the first minute when Brian Mbeumo fired a shot past Giorgi Mamadashvili, but it has been a mostly even game since then.
The visiting team had chances to extend their lead, but the home side fought back well and even though they were beaten back at one point, there was a cry for a penalty.
Kodi Gakpo hit the post and Isak missed the chance, so it is important that the LFC forward puts on his finishing boots for the second half or they will face a fourth straight defeat in all competitions.
United would not have been favorites before this game, but they have done a good job so far and could be confident of defending all three points.
