The multi-rider crash in Race 2 at the Czech Worldsub resulted in the injury to Honda’s Xavi Vierge.
Vierge was taken to the medical center after crashing on Turn 1 in Race 2.
It has now been announced that he suspects an ankle fracture on his right foot.
At this stage, Vierge’s injury is suspected, so further evaluations will be made to confirm his condition.
Currently in seventh place in the world’s Superbike Championship standings, Vierge crashed on the first turn of Race 2, when Alvaro Bautista came into contact with Jonathan Rea.
Rhea cuts the inner curb of Turn 1 into the Spaniard.
The Birge, on the outside of the Bautista, had nowhere to go to avoid Bautista’s bike after contact.
REA was given a double long lap penalty and ran in the top five early to finish in 13th place in the race. Bautista was forced to retire on the spot.
Alex Rose’s race was also affected by the incident. He was forced to cut the inside gravel of Turn 2. He finished his first lap in 20th place and finished in 7th place in 15th place.
