Zach Lowe believes Lauri Markanen has withdrawn from the Utah Jazz, and one East Side is his best team.
Lauri Markkanen will be at a crossroads in his NBA career. The Finnish star has reached a recession in recent years after the 2023 All-Star nomination.
However, last month brought a marvel to his reputation. Markanen proved critics wrong with his great run at the Eurobasket tournament.
Many fans feel that Markanen is wasting his career with the Utah Jazz and should leave the team as soon as possible.
One person who agrees with this feeling is Zach Lowe. And in the latest episode of his podcast, Lowe even picked the best team for Markanen.
Zach Lowe recently spoke about Lauri Markkanen on his podcast. Longtime NBA experts haven’t seen the Finnish superstar staying in jazz for too long.
His contract value is high, but there are several teams in the NBA who want to put him on the team. And Lowe believes Detroit’s pistons are his best landing spot.
“I can’t imagine a scenario where Lauri Markkanen is in Jazz in a year. He needs to look around this team and wonder what happened.
“The deal is huge, this year at $46 million and $53.5 million until 2029. He missed half of last season with injuries.
“I’ve spoken to a lot of people. Everyone loves Lori Markanen. He fits easily everywhere. They don’t love the contract.
“Eurobasket helped me. He was destroying the people in Eurobasket. The Detroit Pistons may be my favorite Laurimalkanen team.
“Tobias Harris is set to become a free agent next year, Jaden Ivy, a young guard who will add to his collection of young guards.
“I threw a few picks and did it. We got it. It fits perfectly with the cades. You don’t always need the ball. You can do something with the ball. I love it.
This is what I think the potential deal between the Utah Jazz and the Detroit Piston looks like this:
Detroit Piston receives: Lauri Marcanen
The Utah Jazz receives: Tobias Harris, Jaden Ivey, Marcus Sasser, 2028 Firstround Pick (Det), 2030 Firstround Pick (Top-10 Protected, Det)
This allows the Detroit Pistons to move on from Tobias Harris’s expired contract, calling for the end of the Jaden Evie project that’s not going well for them.
Adding the Marcus Sasser is simply making the numbers work, as the Pistons needed to clear more space beyond Harris and Ivy to land Marcanen.
The two first round picks are valuable to the Utah Jazz, especially when they are likely in a position to use them in trade to land another asset.
