NBA expert Zach Lowe believes that the biggest part of Luka Doncic’s transformation is being lowered.
Luka Doncic has proudly shown the results of his impressive training and conditioning regimen.
The La Lakers star has appeared in the men’s health cover and revealed that he even gave up basketball for a month to focus purely on everything else.
Magic Johnson praises Magic Johnson for his commitment to self-improvement, but there has been a lot of response to Donsic’s body transformation.
Luka Doncic has never won an MVP, but has previously been closer to voting.
He finished third in the 2023/24 awards poll. Last season he was ineligible due to the number of games missed.
But this shouldn’t take away how good he is, and Zach Lowe believes that much of it has been lost in recent months.
Donsic was traded by the Dallas Mavericks and there was a lot of subsequent speculation about why, including criticism for his conditioning.
Many have seen Donsic’s physical changes as a message to the Mavericks, rather than just a commitment to improving the Lakers.
And of all this, the fact that one of the best players in the NBA is about to get better has been lost a bit in the shuffle.
Zach Lowe told his podcast:
“If you’ve seen this continue and return to better shape after Luka is in good health, I don’t think he’s seen this.
“If this continues, the big story is that the Lakers have a top three NBA players that they have never done in his career. That’s the story.”
Luka Doncic has a 73-point game on his resume against The Mavericks in early 2024, the fourth highest in NBA history.
Last season he averaged 28.2 points per game, with his highest season average of 33.9 ppg from 2023-24.
It’s going to take some time to get to the top of this from Luka Doncic, but can he really put a bet on him due to the focus and determination he’s in the season?
The LA Lakers can get a glimpse of the new look of Luka Donsic taking action when representing Slovenia in the Eurobasket from late August to early September.
