Liverpool is said to have launched a “red carpet” by Real Madrid to close the transfer agreement for Trent Alexander Arnold.
England International, which is scheduled to close his contract at Anfield this summer, is now widely reported to be approaching finalizing his move to the Bernabeu with a free transfer.
Melissa Lady writes about the situation of Sky Sports’ Alexander Arnold, acknowledging that she doesn’t look good from a Liverpool standpoint.
The combination of factors made the Real more likely to plummet for Alexander Arnold, but overall it sounds like the chaos within Anfield contributed to this outcome.
How Liverpool lost Trent Alexander Arnold to Real Madrid
The Lady said: “He, Virgil van Dik and Mohamed Sarah have accepted that the turbulent at the sports director level and Klopp’s decision to leave have made the contract Sagas (he, Virgil van Dik and Mohamed Sarah) materialized from his off-pitch inertia.
“Liverpool has not only opened the door for the attack on Real Madrid’s charm, but also rolled the red carpet, and the Spanish giant has been willing to walk for two years before it really sparked interest ahead of last summer.
“The club has entrusted us with maintaining Alexander Arnold’s favorable offer, but they understand the charm of new challenges, a fresh life and lifestyle experience, and the charm of being a real player.”
Alexander Arnold should be a great signing for Real Madrid, and if he goes to the end of the season, Liverpool will be overlooked a lot.
The 26-year-old has been in the LFC for his entire career so far, but he has not remained loyal to the club in the way Stephen Gerrard did so prominently, as he spent his entire career at Anfield despite opportunities from hosts of top European clubs.
