Aston Villa has significantly boosted Champions League ambitions after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 on Friday evening.
The Spurs had one eye on the Europa League final next week, but Unai Emery’s side gave a confident performance.
The game was balanced before opening a score courtesy of Ezri Consa, who scored the net from six yards after a flick-on from Ollie Watkins.
Boubacar Kamara doubled the lead after 15 minutes and sealed the victory with a shot from the edge of the box.
In the end, three points deserved obviously, and the starting XI was excellent. Consana must receive extra praise not only for his goals but also for his being at the centre of the defense.
Ezri Konsa’s number of games and spurs
The British have only missed four Premier League matches for Villa this season, becoming one of Emery’s key players looking to win the Champions League group stage again.
Although used on the right side of defense this season, Consa is in top form along the way, using incredible physical strength to win a duel.

Against the Spurs, he made three clearances and two tackles, earning four of the six ground duels during the match.
Additionally, he lost ownership twice and committed two fouls, but he was in full control over the North Londoners.
If they finish in the top five and secure a spot on the promised land for their next term, he will become essential to the villa.
Someone else who can prove his influence is Amadu Onana, who made only his fifth league start from the beginning of February on Friday evening.
Amadou Onana is currently not possible for Aston Villa
Praise went to your Tillémans for the amazing work he did at Villa Midfield this season, but Onana may need to think of Emery for his exhibit against the Spurs.
The Belgian not only completed 91% of the passes, but also succeeded with 100% of the dribble, making one key pass and losing the ball only four times while on the pitch.
Winning four tackles and six of his seven ground duels proved that his tenacious nature was not seen by everyone, and it certainly gave him the freedom to express things like Morgan Rogers and Marco Asensio in the final third.
Journalist John Townley gave the former Everton man an 8/10 rating, saying “Onana easily covers the covered ground, owns his range, gets accurate balls off, and pairs well in tight areas. A powerful all-round show” shows that he was just as good and effective as Consa.
Villa will need to win the final match against Manchester United. Manchester United are showing Onana’s performance against the Spurs either high or discouraged after the Europa League final mid-week to secure a top-five finish on the top flight.
If they perform as they did against the Spurs, United won’t maintain their chances.
